Somers Courtyard House by Rowan Opat Architects

Somers Courtyard House was designed by the company Rowan Opat Architects and located an hour's drive from Melbourne. Exterior of the building clad in dark wood can be called a bit unwelcoming, but you?ll change your opinion entering the house. Inside you can see more than cozy interiors which provide lots of light due to the large windows, wood finishes trim and real warmth of the family hearth. There is a small square courtyard in the central part of the building. This interesting house was designed according to the latest standards of energy saving and exists entirely independently from the rest of the world, using their own passive solar energy.

Spring Interior Ideas

At last spring came! Of course, it is a reason to update your interior. And nothing creates a mood in the interior like the color! One of the most important symbols of this beautiful season is rich green grass. Add color accents with posters, wall stickers, or textiles. Paintings, curtains or posters could be easily replaced, and therefore, you can safely experiment. And don?t forget about flower motives. However trite it is the flowers always fill an apartment with vitality and attract the eye. So, decorate your house with indoor plants or bouquets of cut flowers. By the way, the combination of light green, olive green and white gives a feeling of freshness and spaciousness. And this is what we are waiting from a spring interior.

This original wooden house located in a suburb of Oslo, Norway would be practically invisible against the backdrop of the natural landscape, but it looks very bright thanks to its red façade. The house was built on the sloping site, perpendicularly to a little river, which is observed from the windows. The decision to stain a wooden facade of the house in red color was made by the owner, who said that this way the house will be express his preferences and character.
