Glass facade

Beach House Design for sale by Steven Harris Architects

Steven Harris Architects have created this beautiful glass house design of Surfside Residence. Located in Montauk (State of New York), the mansion features four bedrooms and bathrooms. Built near the sea, it has its own access to the private beach. If you even don’t want to leave the residence, you can relax in the pool and spa area. Due to the glass façade, this ocean front modern masterpiece dissolves boundaries between interior and exterior. But of course there some private corners which are hidden from prying eyes. The modern interior is designed in the style of a beach house and you could get this house for 9,950,000$ on the Sotheby’s International website.

Glass House Design: Williams Studio by GH3
Design Studio GH3 from Toronto presented a draft of Williams Studio. Located on Stony Lake in Ontario, Canada, this glass house was built for the photographer, who wanted to live and work with comfort under one roof. Due to the successful location and the wishes of the client the exterior was designed as transparent as possible. So there was a full glazed facade, which can be closed by roll-curtains to ensure privacy or to hide from the sun during the hot summer days. Interior of the house was designed in minimalist style. The predominance of white palette combines well with dark accents.

Modern and Magnificent House by Wessels Joyce Associates
Wessels Joyce Associates has completed a project of a house they designed in Knysna, South Africa. The mansion consists of a few blocks and has a very open plan. You can see on photos all of exterior is glassed, that creates a feeling of lightness and provides magnificent views everywhere. The interior is designed in modern style, bright colors are dominated there, but dark accents like columns, fireplaces or textiles add some originality. I especially liked the bedroom with king-sized bed, coated with weightless fabric and  located outdoor endless pool. Visit the Wessels Joyce Associates website ? here.

Unusual Island House in Korea by IROJE KHM Architects

Island House is built on the Han River in South Korea’s Kangwon-do prefecture.  This stunning residential complex runs over an area of over 700 square meters. Wonderful nature surroundings and features of the space led HyoManKim, of IROJE KHM Architects, to such an idea: Form of site = Form of architecture = Maximum efficiency of landscape. This house sits on the mountain area and provides a wide panoramic view of picturesque river. There is a unique stepped roof garden that creates the sloped ceiling lines. This design is contextual to its surrounding site with the composition of irregular polygonal shaped concrete mass and metal mesh. The angled steel and glass façade is designed in such a way to maximize the views when one is sitting inside the house and enjoys views of the landscape beyond and between different parts of the house.

Contemporary Summer House by Pacific Environments

Located in the hills above Buckleton Bay, Matakana, New Zealand, the project, known as Bourke House, was realized by Pacific Environment. The architects have tried to create a structure which is minimally influenced the environment and thus would have the most comprehensive view of the ocean. The house features not only glass façade, but it was also equipped with glass sliding doors, which fill the house with fresh air and allow to move freely between the inside and the outside spaces. In addition, the house has some eco facilities: systems for collecting and recycling rainwater, solar hot-water. Neutral colors, red wood accents cheer up and give individuality to the interior.

H House is one of the projects which attract the attention and you want to look at it again not to miss any detail and try to guess the designers'? secret. The residence was designed for a couple: a dancer and an actor, as well as landscape architects. Of course, the main feature is exterior design that combines transparent and opaque glass, as well as the sliding and fixed portion of the façade. Interiors, decorated in light grey color, are provided with enough natural lighting. It allows them to look lighter then they really are. Squeezed Contemporary House With Glass Facade in Belgium

Amidst a block of more traditional houses in Bilzen, Brussels-based Bassam El-Okeily, in collaboration with Karla Menten, has squeezed a contemporary three storey residence. From the street, the project’s vastly unique façade screams for attention, yet the crazed internal geometry is contained by a flat piece of glass – a move that allows the project to assimilate better into its context. In the evening time, the façade is lit in different colors allowing the house to act as “a pubic light sculpture by night.”
