Summer house

Contemporary Summer House by Pacific Environments

Located in the hills above Buckleton Bay, Matakana, New Zealand, the project, known as Bourke House, was realized by Pacific Environment. The architects have tried to create a structure which is minimally influenced the environment and thus would have the most comprehensive view of the ocean. The house features not only glass façade, but it was also equipped with glass sliding doors, which fill the house with fresh air and allow to move freely between the inside and the outside spaces. In addition, the house has some eco facilities: systems for collecting and recycling rainwater, solar hot-water. Neutral colors, red wood accents cheer up and give individuality to the interior.

Multiny Bay by Heliotrope Architects

This modest summer house was designed by Heliotrope Architects for the retired couple. The site located in Whidbey Island and area of this house is about 2,300 square feet. The main idea was to create a comfortable accommodation for two and for guests as well. The Multiny Bay is divided into two parts. The Northern part of the house is more private and includes bedrooms and bathrooms. The Southern structure encloses public functions; there are living, dining and kitchen areas there. It is a typical country house with beautiful views over the water, where you can relax and hold family meetings around the fireplace.

Contemporary Summer House Vestfold 2 in Norway

This unique house is located on the coast of Vestfold in the southern part of Norway. It was built as a summer residence and blends with the landscape greatly. Truth to say, it’s difficult to imagine that modern comfortable house could be situated on a terrain surrounded by rocks, but the designers from Jarmund / Vigsnæs AS Architects MNAL have implemented this idea. The house and terrace are partly built upon existing stone walls, other parts of the walls are made of stones from the blasting on the ground. The exterior is clad in wood and stone. As a whole, the house impressed us by its contemporary look, stylish pool and terrace which offer fascinating views of the water and rocks.
