Steam Bentwood Chairs by Dohoon Kim

Just give a look to the work of the Korean designer Dohoon Kim. He has presented his new collection of steam bentwood chairs. These chairs are designed and manufactured by steaming wood processing technique which bends the wood in steaming condition. Such technique makes the design environmentally sustainable. Dohoon Kim used small amounts of wood and created this collection which looks rather simple but yet very stylish, elegant and beautiful. The material itself gives the ability of elasticity and durability. Some more advantages of steaming wood processing technique are free expression of formation and small deformation of wood. As Dohoon Kim says: The ‘Steam bentwood chair’ is one of my latest works that shows its organically structured form made with steam bent-wood technique. One look is just enough to see the original way how each pieces of wood connecting through each other. These chairs will be suitable in any interior.

Unique Handmade Transforming Oven Lounge

Does this look like an old ugly oven? Well that’s not it anymore. This oven has been redesigned by students from the University of Cincinnati's DAAP design school. It doesn’t cook anymore, but it transforms to a nice and extremely comfortable lounge. It accommodates a single person and is perfect to watch TV or read the book. When closed the side drawer hides custom made cushions with cinnamon swirl pattern. Unfortunately the only existing oven lounge was sold from Etsy recently, but who stops you to take this idea and make your own unique lounge?

The Blue Residence in Greece by Nikos Koukourakis

Blue is usually a cold and unwelcoming color, but this large luxury house in Dionisis, Attica is an exception. Its bluish illumination harmonizes with the night starry sky and gives a feeling of calmness and serenity. To some people it might remind of the ubiquitous Tron movie, but the house was built before the movie premiere. Large two-storey tall windows connect interior with the patio that has a large swimming pool and the entertainment area. The contemporary interior of this house slightly insinuates that it was created by a Greek designer. We especially favor the unusual staircase with stunning wooden handrail behind the glass wall that complements to the living room’s interior.
