The Rattan AURA Lamp by French Designers

Rattan furniture and accessories are well known for their ability to make a home warmer and more welcoming by bringing in some details and natural elements. More over, the most of such things are hand made. Océane Delain and Béatrice Durandard presented this excellent AURA lamp on the European ADREAM contest and took the first prize. They used solely eco friendly, natural materials and leds, making this lamp very energy efficient too. We especially loved the way the AURA looks when mounted to the wall – this way it’s obvious where the name comes from. It’s currently being produced in the limited series and sold at a fair price. The creators want to save exclusivity of their product by not turning it into the cheap mass production item.

Lotus fruit bowl by Stefano Giovannoni from Alessi

It is not a secret that the details create the whole design. To make your place bright you need something that will draw everybody’s attention. So make your house not only comfortable and cozy but also stylish and nice to look at. In this case Lotus fruit bowl designed by Stefano Giovannoni from the Italian company Alessi will be a good solution for you. This is the perfect finger bowl for serving ginger or other condiments with its beautiful Lotus flower design. The designer was inspired by the old tradition in china of the Asians and also by the cult for the lotus flower. The bowl is the part of the OrienTales collection which is reminiscent of 18th century ceramic trinkets. But still it looks very contemporary. It could be used both for fruit keeping and for decorative aims. The colour palette is very gentle and delicate. The price is about $33.

The Red Lounge designed by Sanjay Puri Architects in India

This beautiful lounge is located in Mumbai, India. Designed by Sanjay Puri Architects in the largest Cineplex (six screens) of the city it got its name – the Red Lounge – after the shiny red floor. One more peculiar is a wavy curvilinear ceiling designed in such a way for linking the different heights, and it also gives the impression that the space is larger. But the ceiling is not the last surprise of this Red Lounge. Large screens different in their height and transforming into varying hues of blues and reds are located alongside the windows to the lobby. Plastic pipe sections were sandwiching within sheets of glass to screening off the outside view of adjacent buildings. They create different moods from joyful to romantic.

Stained Glass Art House by Tom Pruin

There are some cities and countries that can be proud of its architecture connected with fairy-tales and of famous people who lived there. Finland is known for the residence of Santa-Claus. Sweden was the home-land for Astrid Lindgren. Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, was the place of living for Hans Christian Andersen. And this city is also well-known for the statue of Little Mermaid. But it is not the only touch of fairy-tale in Copenhagen. Tom Pruin, the New-York based architect, has designed an unusual stained glass art house right in the middle of the city. It looks really amazing and unreal especially at night when it is lit from the inside. Moreover all the space around this miraculous house is coloured by wide range of lights. It is extremely beautiful! Tom Pruin was inspired by all the lights that he had faced in Copenhagen so he decided to combine them all in his own one. The result was this piece of faire-tale.
