X&Y Light from Flynn Talbot: Become a Creator of Your Own Atmosphere

Flynn Talbot is an Australian lighting designer, who has created a new interactive light object called X&Y. He had the idea of such object for several years, briding the fields of interactive design and product design. Only latest achievements in LED technology have enabled the optimal realisation of this design vision. X&Y light was recently presented in the Berlin-based contemporary design gallery Helmrinderknecht. This sensory-based lamp allows people to control and to touch the power of light. The polished brass base contains all the LEDs and technology and is not connected to the the hand-blown opal glass sphere. The sphere produces light in a range of cool to warm white tones and a full colour spectrum.

The Futuristic Cascade Shower Head by ST Rubinetterie

Do you want to bring a piece of creativity to your bathroom design? Then the Cascade shower head by ST Rubinetterie is a good choice. A cascade of water springing directly from the wall, like from a fissure in rock – this is the idea of the designers. Natural iconographies and human works are deeply combined in this shower head. As the designer says: “Like a primary icon that brings with it the memory of ancestral cascades, it is a project of synthesis which transforms the visible part of the shower into a two-dimensional, fluid plate together with the water into the main players”. One more peculiar is the material used. As it is made of steel you can install such shower not only inside but also outside in your swimming pool or outside shower. Simple and stylish!

Vague Clock by Sejoon Kim: Time Is Squashy

A clock that hides time until pressed inwards? Yes, absolutely right! Designer Sejoon Kim of South Korea has designed a Vague Clock where the users should touch the flexible surface to reveal the time. The squashy mild cover gives the feeling of having to chase time. Nowadays people are bombarded with so much information that can increase stress in our daily lives. Time can certainly be one of them and unnecessarily “press” people. This was the idea that inspired the designer. The clock is updated by GPS so the time remains accurate despite the hands being touched. The design concept was awarded at the 2010 Red Dot Awards. Really very festive!
