Nettleton 195 House by SAOTA and Antoni Associates
Architectural Studio SAOTA headed by Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen in collaboration with the interior design studio Antoni Associates have created a modern private Nettleton 195 house in Clifton, suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. This large 5-storeyed family house is situated on a steep slope and offers magnificent panoramic ocean views. The entrance is made from above, from Nettleton Road, where the house looks like a small one-story building, and further goes down the slope. The project differs in its great attention to detail, creative advanced interiors and unusual rough finishes. You can see on pictures below how the exterior of the house combines concrete and ribbed zinc with hardwood and softwood.

Futuristic and Modern Dupli.Casa by J. MAYER H. Architects

This private residence on the river Neckar is  a perfect example of how different shapes and materials could combine in one project. Dupli Casa, designed by J. Mayer H. Architects, is located in Ludwigsburg, Germany. The residence looks futuristic due to its original geometric shapes and white facade. Extraordinary design of the main structure flows into the base and blends harmoniously with the other functional extensions. What is interesting, the architecture of the building is based on the footprint of the previous house, built in 1884. Concrete walls and wooden floors create connection between the modern and the old, the natural and the man-made and the inside and outside. The residence consists of tree levels and there are lots of panoramic windows which provide breathtaking views.

Mad Parks residence is an unusual modern house, designed by Vandeventer + Carlander Architects. It?s home for happy family in which everyone is fan of contemporary art and seeks to create a modern art museum inside. The facade is made of various materials - there are many windows, cedar from Alaska, which gives a more classic look, as well as metal, sharply contrasting with the other materials. So the residence is separated into several parts that make its structure very unusual. Inside the house you can see many interesting details: paintings, sculptures, original decorative elements.
