Software Designed Moebius House by Tony Owen
This contemporary house is unique in many ways because it was modeled using the more environmentally involved micro design. It was created by parametric software that considered dozens of parameters. The unusual architecture is a response to the requirements to provide privacy from the neighbors and at the same time let in as much light as possible and encompass the views of Sydney Opera and Harbour Bridge. The name of the house comes from the moebius strip, the mathematical surface looking similar to the house’s external shape. shape The complex geometry of this house required the unusual construction process too. It would be extremely hard to build the structure like it is as a usual building – from basement to the roof; the Moebius house was assembled the way the car would be. The metal panels were exclusively manufactured on China and applied to the pre-built steel frame.
