The Most Expensive House in the World

Can you imagine that this 27-storey skyscraper is a private house? But it?s true. Mukesh Ambani, the richest Indian on the version of Forbes magazine, built most expensive private house in the world in Mumbai. Estimated value of the mansion Antilia is more than one billion dollars. Uniqueness of the building is not only in its price and great size for a private construction, but also in the fact that each floor is different from the other in layout and design. The house has a ballroom, a cinema, fitness club, swimming pool yoga studio and other luxury features. Designers also created exotic "ice room" where the native Indians can enjoy the freshness of the north, and even artificial snow. Antilia with three balconies, gardens, terraces provides excellent views of the Arabian Sea (and the slums of Mumbai).

The Gunderson house in Norway by WRB: Fantasy Fjord Home

Norway is known as Northern severe country but there are so many fascinating views there giving a look to which you will instantly remind of crispy blue fjords, rock formations and windswept trees. I want to attract your attention by a breathtaking house in Haugesund overlooking a stunning fjord. The Gunderson House is a project done by Widjedal Racki Bergerhoff Architects. The house offers beautiful views through big windows over the bay. An original house was situated on the southern part of the plot, with a cramped up sunny patio, without benefiting from the site scenic views and coastal location. The interior design of this residence is contemporary yet warm and welcoming. It combines various materials with bold and subdued colors, like the red and black kitchen and the light colored living room; the minimalist dining table and its colorful eclectic rug; the wooden ceiling, glass walls and stone fireplace. One of the most delightful features is the beautiful roof covered patio with its open fireplace and heated pool. Finding yourself in the Gunderson house you’ll be fascinated by a friendly atmosphere created by architects and designers.

The Blue Residence in Greece by Nikos Koukourakis

Blue is usually a cold and unwelcoming color, but this large luxury house in Dionisis, Attica is an exception. Its bluish illumination harmonizes with the night starry sky and gives a feeling of calmness and serenity. To some people it might remind of the ubiquitous Tron movie, but the house was built before the movie premiere. Large two-storey tall windows connect interior with the patio that has a large swimming pool and the entertainment area. The contemporary interior of this house slightly insinuates that it was created by a Greek designer. We especially favor the unusual staircase with stunning wooden handrail behind the glass wall that complements to the living room’s interior.

The House of a Dream in New Jersey

It is not a joke! This marvelous house is situated in Lambertville in New Jersey and is sold at a price of almost $ 2 million. It is rather old (its history dates back to 1905) but all the rooms were completely restored recently. Finding yourself in it you won’t regret. There are three floors in this house and a great number of rooms. Entering the main entrance you will get into the parlor with an old-fashioned fireplace and the salon with large windows which open a really wonderful view. You’ll be shocked by a luxury and splendor of the house. There are five bedrooms, five bathrooms, dining room, modern spacious cuisine and Jacuzzi. A garage, a small terrace, a cellar equipped for those who like billiards and even a greenhouse are also available. This house is created for joy. It combines unobtrusive old-fashionedness with ultra modernity. I’m sure its elegance and magnificence won’t leave anyone indifferent.

Splendid Mansion Thousand Waves on the Pacific Ocean Shore

There are many luxury houses but not many of them have wonderful ocean views for their back yard. This miracle of the designer's thought is situated near the Pacific Ocean, in Maui. Leaving it you find yourself on the beach where you can enjoy breathtaking ocean views.

But it is the heaven not only for the senses and soul but also for the body. The living area takes about 11 000 square feet and the residence includes two master suites, six guest rooms, a media room, library, home office and separate caretaker’s quarters. There are also several wonderful additions such as an oceanfront pool, a Jacuzzi, a yoga pavilion and an exercise room.

As it has been mentioned this house is brilliant in its size and location, and it should be said that it also has nice design solutions. There you can see the landscape architecture elements which feast the eyes of inhabitants and guests. This is not simply a house, this is a dream!

Toorak House by Robert Mills Architects

Australian studio Robert Mills Architects has completed Toorak House in Australia. Robert Mills is renowned for innovative modern urban designs. The philosophy of this project from the outset was to create a luxurious contemporary family home. Designers used contrast of white, dark brown and black colors and high-end materials. Spiral staircase, linking the ground floor to the first and second levels, provides a striking sculptural element that contrasts with the cubic character of the interior. In the courtyard you’ll find a small pool and a cozy relaxation area. There is nothing superfluous in the home design, it is the epitome of good taste and luxury.
