House on sloping site

Nettleton 195 House by SAOTA and Antoni Associates
Architectural Studio SAOTA headed by Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen in collaboration with the interior design studio Antoni Associates have created a modern private Nettleton 195 house in Clifton, suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. This large 5-storeyed family house is situated on a steep slope and offers magnificent panoramic ocean views. The entrance is made from above, from Nettleton Road, where the house looks like a small one-story building, and further goes down the slope. The project differs in its great attention to detail, creative advanced interiors and unusual rough finishes. You can see on pictures below how the exterior of the house combines concrete and ribbed zinc with hardwood and softwood.

Box House in Boulder, Colorado by Studio H:T

During the construction of the house in the U.S. state of Colorado, the architects from Studio H: T were not afraid of the possible difficulties associated with the complexity of the site, but also tried to take maximum advantage of it. The result is this interesting building, known as Box House, which has a unique shape and provides its residents the most striking representation of the natural environment. Like many other houses situated on the slopes, this one has ground level, partially integrated into the hill, and the second level with the studio and master suite floating above the surface of the slope. There are several comfortable patios equipped with everything necessary for rest outside.

Beautiful Remodel Project by Chadbourne + Doss Architects

This contemporary house is located in Washington and it?s an example of quality and prestige remodel of famous Seattle architect Fred Bassetti's earliest design built in 1962. The authors of the project, called Wood Block Residence, became Chadbourne + Doss Architects. The house is situated on a sloping site, surrounded by dense vegetation and amazing natural landscapes and, of course, the residence features large windows and some fragments of the full glassed walls. The exterior was clad in such materials as concrete, wood and glass that look very harmonious there. Interiors show a close relationship with the environment and an inner courtyard. The combination of black and white, as well as individual elements of natural wood emphasizes elegance and style.
