New restaurant and service building at the foot of the mountains in Norway
The company Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter has completed a project of new restaurant and service building in Norway. The building is situated at the foot of the Troll Wall, one of the most popular place for mountain climbing sports in Europe. Having a meal in such restaurant you will enjoy a stunning landscape due to floor to ceiling glazing. From designer’s description: ‘The building has a simple, though flexible plan, with a characteristic roof that has its character from the majestetic surrounding landscape. These simple ways of design gives the building its character and identity that makes the Service center an eye-catcher and an architectural attraction in the region.’

The 700 Palms Residence by Ehrlich Architects

This outstanding project, designed by specialists of Ehrlich Architects and located in California, was called 700 Palms Residence. Thanks to extensive glazing this large house seems very light and almost weightless. But sustainability was a major concern, so architects used concrete flooring to absorb the sun?s warmth in the winter, operable windows and large sliding doors to facilitate natural ventilation and low-maintenance recycled materials. Customer of the project wanted to get a modern and elegant accommodation, which would have high connection between the interior and beautiful garden. And the walls, entirely made of glass, look simply amazing, dissolving the barriers between indoors and outdoors. The facade is made of steel and it was also the wish of the owner.
