Oxford chair design was created by Arne Jacobsen in 1963. Today it is manufactured by Fritz Hansen from Germany. Initially, the wooden chair was designed specifically for the professors at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford. Two years later, in 1965, he was "dressed" in the upholstery and released for sale. Today Oxford chair looks more elegant, more beautiful and comfortable, it could be made ??of aluminum, laminated wood and high-quality upholstery leather or fabric. The market offers different variations of the product with a high, medium or low back. You can see all the models and prices on the producer’s site.

Noble Osso collection by Bouroullec
Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec has created this deceptively simple, though highly sculpted and polished, wooden chair for Italian Brand Mattiazzi. The designers’ goal was to let the sensuality of the wood material - from oak to maple to ash - express itself. Due to the use of high technologies and precious wood the Osso chair looks like a true work of art and will fit any interior. The high-tech assembling system of geometrical wood panels allows a quite singular strength while preserving a design balance of the object. The Osso collection consists of a chair, an armchair, a children chair as well as high and low stools.

The Mosaiik Patchwork Chairs Inspired by Corncobs from Annika Goransson

Swedish design student Annika Goransson will exhibit her latest creation, the Mosaiik Lounge Chair at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. This contemporary lounge chair is created with a metal grid which is used as the construction of the shell. As the addition, the grid also acts as the framework for the upholstering. Though it has a patchwork appeal, you will be surprised by the fact that it is inspired by the corncobs and sunflowers. The upholstery is made out of 297 foam cubes that are spread on the seat. They are covered by a wool fabric that offers smooth surface and rough structure form in the back. By leaving the back uncovered, the user can understand how the chair is constructed and can experience the different structures created by the upholstering technique. This patchwork chair looks very stylish and cozy.

Driade NEMO Chair by Fabio Novembre

We all wear masks, all the time. No matter how we look from the outside, our inner world is hidden from the relatives. This is probably the philosophy behind this project by Fabio Novembre. Judging from his website, this artist is a little bit crazy in a good way, making him create the furniture that is really unique in it’s concept and look. The NEMO mask chair looks like a sculpture of woman’s face and has enough space to accommodate and completely hide a person behind that mask. It gives a sense of mystery and beauty to your interior or patio, magically turning your house to the theatrical scene. The chair is designed to be used outside and inside alike; rotational moulded polyethylene is extremely weatherproof.

Modernatique Chair by Hyung Suk Cho

This contemporary chair was presented in the Festival 2010 in Seoul, Korea. Designer Hyung Suk Cho tried to combine modern and antique styles in these furniture items. Modernatique collection is the embodiment of elegance and grace of the lines. It was made from ash or walnut and available in black and white colors. Curved frame and tapered legs of the chair create contemporary elegant look, and to my mind, Modernatique collection is more modern than antique. So you can choose between Black version with walnut or White version with ash-tree. In any way this furniture will beautify your interior.
