Refurbished Attic With Glossy White Facade by Clavel Arquitectos

Clavel Arquitectos completed the renovation of an existing attic in Murcia, Spain. The owner wanted to have comfort  space for living and for display his personal collection of paintings. And the designers tried to create the feelings of a suburban house in the city. The refurbishment was made on an existing penthouse that was affected by strict regulations that impeded to modify the alignment of the facade walls. Initially, the attic had closed uncomfortable layout, and the designers have proposed to embody the idea of housing bubbles. On the plan below we can see four units for different use: dining, living, main bedroom, children bedrooms while the space in between works as service and circulation. The contemporary glossy facade design is clad with opaque white glass.

Old Attic Renovation Design by Studio Damilano

Attic apartment is the rather old building located in Northern Italy. It was built in 1910. So much has been done by Studio Damilano architects to change the look of this old apartment room. But they changed it without changing the structure of existing building. The apartment has lots of unusual angles and it influences the design concept much. The 240 sq m living space is divided into the two bedrooms, living room, two bathrooms and kitchen. Every single room impresses by the sophisticated design. The sleeping area is designed as an independent unit. The bed and bath, separated by a glass wall, create two areas to relax. Part of empty space can be put a classical musical instrument and will add more modern and comfortable atmosphere. The architects managed to create an attic apartment space that embraces the oddness of the shape of the interior.
