The Mosaiik Patchwork Chairs Inspired by Corncobs from Annika Goransson

Swedish design student Annika Goransson will exhibit her latest creation, the Mosaiik Lounge Chair at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. This contemporary lounge chair is created with a metal grid which is used as the construction of the shell. As the addition, the grid also acts as the framework for the upholstering. Though it has a patchwork appeal, you will be surprised by the fact that it is inspired by the corncobs and sunflowers. The upholstery is made out of 297 foam cubes that are spread on the seat. They are covered by a wool fabric that offers smooth surface and rough structure form in the back. By leaving the back uncovered, the user can understand how the chair is constructed and can experience the different structures created by the upholstering technique. This patchwork chair looks very stylish and cozy.
