Cooroy Library and Digital Information Hub in Queensland, Australia
Library and Digital Hub in Queensland (Australia) was built by Brewster Hjorth Architects right in the existing slope, and the whole construction of the buildings creates a bridge. The gracious bridge links the Butter factory Art Gallery and the main city street. The building consists of two curved pavilions. The pavilion in the west is a dug built into the slope and covered with a grass roof. To the north the eastern pavilion extends out of the ground where the community lounge, café, and reading areas are located. Inside of the library there are few rooms belonging to the technology digital Hub. They are: training rooms, community rooms, community lounge and reading areas. There is also a cafe overlooking into a large verandah that is linked to the recreational park. . The idea of design was totally focused on the children, so the colors of the interior are very bright and the whole atmosphere encourage gathering and socializing.
