Standing Lamp by Floris Wubben
This unique standing lamp, designed by floris wubben from Netherland has been easily transformed from a tree branch. The natural view was saved by minimal modifications with a real wood. At the bottom of the lamp the branch is split into three parts giving stability to the construction. Lamp-shade is made of the bark which is almost totally pealed from the branch and twisted in a needed form in tension. The final form of the lamp depends on the natural branch's form. So the final product is a unique result of the design work. The lamp is very good for a cottage or country house.

Lamps Shaped Dogs by Whatishisname
Modern art is interesting by its eccentricity, openness and even queerness to one’s taste. But this is the the main attraction of it. Each item of nowadays art has a sense, it can speak and it talks about everything that surrounds us. It explains talks, argues, cries, laughs and makes us share the same feelings, express the same emotions. The first emotion that awakens in us when we look at Whatshisname’s last work is laugh. This is a lamp in a shape of a black dog with the on/off switch that has very interesting shape, you can see it on the picture below. More precisely there are two similar lamps: ‘Good Boy’ and ‘Good Puppy’. The lamps were designed with the intention to make users uncomfortable while using them. Except the appearance the lamps certainly have an important functionality. The lighting they provide has a romantic and soft glow. Good Puppy is available in limited editions, so you can try to buy it. [caption id="attachment_22613" align="aligncenter" width="620"] good puppy lamps[/caption]

Futuristic Lighting for a Staircase by PSLAB
Very interesting decision to illuminate a staircase was proposed by lighting company PSLAB. They have created lighting design for a spiral staircase in Beirut home (Lebanon). The main peculiarity of this lighting composition is its location. The rectangular holes with lamps inside are mounted right in the back sides of the steps of the staircase. So if we look in the staircase from the base it is a feeling like we are inside of some flying saucer or a spacecraft. The fact that this spiral staircase has no rails and the back sides of the steps are lit makes this composition look futuristic. It’s a new idea in design of staircases when illumination is an essential part of the design itself. [caption id="attachment_22583" align="aligncenter" width="600"] staircase-light[/caption]

The Lamp of Dual Functionality by Studio Ninho
It is a very rare situation when one and the same object performs various functions. But such objects exist. Vinícius Lopes Leite and Gabriela Kuniyoshi - the designers of Brazilian Studio Ninho - have created a lamp and a board for messages at the same time. This lamp of dual functionality is called the ‘Luminaire Post’ looks really like the parcel. It’s packed very comfortably in dismantled form into a small package and it does not bring many difficulties and skills to assemble it. The messages can be easily placed right on the lampshade made of cork. The lamp throws a soft light enough to see written on the shade clearly. In spite of the elementary design and economical manufacturing process (using of sustainable materials) it looks very elegant and nice.

Kimchi and Chips: "assembly" installation
Due to “kimchi and chips”, an experimental art & technology Seoul (South Korea) studio, we can watch a real miracle of living lights. This composition called “assembly” uses a set of 5,500 white blocks hanging from above and 5 high-res cameras connected to a computer sequence, scanning the cubes with structured light. The combination of these technologies produces a habitat for digital forms to exist in our real world. Presence in such room gives an affect of mystery and mystic. The philosophy of “kimchi and chips” can be seen from the next statement: we create installations, products and services that bridge the gap between people and people, people and technologies, people and nature.
