Hand Weaving Collection by Timothy John
New Zealand-based designer Timothy John has presented a limited edition collection of objects in a decorative braided felt. His Woven Collection is the result of creative experimentation. Thanks to the skills of hand weaving and wrapping techniques the designer can change the most ordinary thing into the art piece. The collection includes five limited edition items: the Deviant grandfather clock, the Optimist and Pessimist pendant lamps, the Exhibitionist table and the Traditionalist flower vase. Every piece is quite large because of the used material, which is biodegradable, warm and very pleasant to touch. 'Babylon Light' with a Flower Pot by Ryan Taylor
The Plantable light fixture was created by Ryan Taylor, specializing in interactive, graphic and industrial design, in collaboration with Planting Design Advisor Victoria Taylor. The name of the lamp is Babylon Light - has a clear allusion to the Hanging Gardens of Nebuchadnezzar's wife, is a hollow disk-like construction made of aluminum with a hole in the middle, intended for a lamp. The empty space is used as a flower pot. Babylon Light would look great in the kitchen or living room as well as in the office where it will create "eco-friendly" atmosphere, which is so important in any office staff. Due to designers now everybody can have his own hanging garden.

New Zealand designer Jade Doel has provided an opportunity for us to enjoy the starry sky while dining. LightSpace is a disc-shaped pendant light that supports many modes, the source of which are two independent LED lamps. The body is made of American Ash and consists of five segments, soft lighting of which makes the space "more intimate, more exciting and more intriguing." Doel's creation has not only functional aims but also the rational justification. Doel says that such LightSpace can solve the issues surrounding the lack of "perception of dinner as 'family time'", the reasons of which he sees in increasing adoption of open plan interiors.
